Role Description This Freelance/Contractual SAP FPSL Consultant role focuses on financial products and requires 8+ years of relevant experience. The consultant will work part time and remotely, collaborating with client stakeholders and internal teams to design, configure, and optimize SAP FPSL solutions for insurance and financial services processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, mapping processes to SAP FPSL functionalities, managing master data structures, and ensuring smooth integration with related SAP and non-SAP systems. About the Role
We are looking for a Senior SAP FPSL Consultant with 7+ years of experience in SAP Finance and strong hands-on expertise in SAP Financial Products Subledger (FPSL). The candidate will be responsible for delivering FPSL implementation, configuration, integration, and enhancement solutions for financial services clients.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support SAP FPSL implementation, configuration, and enhancement activities.
Analyze business and accounting requirements and translate them into FPSL solutions.
Configure accounting principles, posting rules, valuation processes, and subledger processes.
Work on end-to-end financial products subledger accounting processes.
Integrate SAP FPSL with SAP S/4HANA Finance and upstream/downstream systems.
Handle data mapping, transformation, reconciliation, and validation activities.
Work closely with business stakeholders, finance teams, and technical teams.
Prepare functional specifications and configuration documentation.
Plan and execute functional, integration, and UAT testing.
Troubleshoot FPSL issues and provide appropriate functional solutions.
Support production activities, enhancements, and continuous improvements.
Provide technical/functional guidance to junior team members where required.
Required Skills
7+ years of overall SAP Finance experience with strong relevant experience in SAP FPSL.
Hands-on experience with SAP Financial Products Subledger (FPSL).
Strong understanding of FPSL architecture, configuration, and accounting processes.
Strong knowledge of SAP FI / SAP S/4HANA Finance.
Experience with financial products such as loans, deposits, securities, or other banking/financial instruments.
Good understanding of subledger accounting, financial accounting, posting, valuation, and reconciliation.
Experience in integrating FPSL with SAP and non-SAP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Good to Have
Experience with IFRS 9 / IFRS 17.
Banking or financial services domain experience.
Experience in SAP FPSL implementation or migration projects.
Knowledge of SAP HANA, CDS Views, Fiori, or ABAP.
Experience with SAP Accounting for Financial Instruments (AFI).
Experience working in large-scale SAP transformation projects.
