Role Description The Corporate Payroll Manager is a contract, remote role responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll operations for the organization. This position manages the preparation, processing, and review of payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Day-to-day tasks include administering payroll systems, reviewing time and attendance data, coordinating with HR and Finance, and resolving payroll inquiries from team members. The role also involves managing garnishments and deductions, overseeing payroll tax filings, and supporting employee benefits-related payroll activities. The Corporate Payroll Manager will develop and refine payroll procedures, maintain secure and organized records, and provide reporting and analysis to leadership as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Management to handle complex, multi-cycle corporate payroll operations.
Candidates should possess expertise in Garnishments and Payroll Taxes to ensure accurate deductions, compliance, and timely remittance to appropriate authorities.
Candidates should possess knowledge of Employee Benefits as they relate to payroll, including deductions, employer contributions, and reconciliation.
Experience with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, or similar) and proficiency with spreadsheets and reporting tools.
Solid understanding of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate with remote teams.
Several years of progressive payroll experience, preferably in a corporate or multi-state environment; professional payroll certification (e.g., CPP or FPC) is a plus.
