About The Role
The AI/ML Solutions Architect at Vanguard plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's artificial intelligence and machine learning strategies. This leadership position involves collaborating closely with enterprise, solution, and domain architects to define robust AI/ML solution architectures that align with strategic business initiatives. The architect will lead cross-functional teams across product development, data science, platform engineering, and IT to drive solutions from conceptualization through to production deployment, ensuring they meet both technical standards and business objectives. The role also encompasses establishing scalable engineering practices, reusable frameworks, and platform capabilities to enhance efficiency and consistency across AI/ML initiatives. Additionally, the architect oversees the design and evolution of data pipelines, feature stores, and model deployment processes, applying expertise in machine learning, statistics, and optimization to operationalize predictive systems and decision-support tools. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical acumen, capable of translating complex requirements into actionable solutions while maintaining compliance with enterprise governance, security, and risk management policies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a graduate degree preferred. A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in AI/ML solution architecture, data engineering, or related roles is required. Demonstrated expertise in designing scalable AI/ML systems, data pipelines, and model deployment frameworks is essential. Candidates should have a strong understanding of machine learning methodologies, statistical analysis, optimization techniques, and experimentation practices. Experience working with cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and communicating technical strategies to senior leadership is highly desirable. Responsibilities
As an AI/ML Solutions Architect, your responsibilities will include partnering with enterprise and domain architects to develop comprehensive AI/ML solution architectures that support strategic initiatives. You will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of data, feature, and model pipelines to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient AI/ML solutions. Establishing engineering best practices, reusable frameworks, and platform capabilities will be a key focus to enhance scalability and delivery speed. You will oversee the operational aspects of AI/ML systems, including automation, observability, monitoring, incident management, and ongoing optimization. Ensuring compliance with enterprise governance, security, risk, and model lifecycle management policies will be critical to maintaining system integrity and trust. Engaging with business and technology stakeholders to understand objectives, assess opportunities, and translate requirements into technical solutions will be a core activity. You will also support departmental planning and prioritization, balancing operational needs with strategic goals. Establishing scalable operating models and support processes will ensure the long-term sustainability of AI/ML products and platforms. Additionally, you will communicate technical strategies and project updates to senior leadership, participate in special projects, and perform other duties as assigned to support Vanguard’s innovation agenda.
