Role Description This is a remote contract role for a News Anchor with IPD Media Networks. The News Anchor will present live and recorded news bulletins, introduce segments, and conduct on-air interviews across digital platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and refining scripts, collaborating with reporters and editors, and preparing for broadcasts through research and fact-checking. The role also involves engaging audiences with clear, objective delivery, adhering to editorial guidelines, and maintaining consistent on-screen professionalism. The News Anchor may participate in content planning meetings and contribute ideas for improving news presentation and viewer engagement.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Reporting and News Writing skills to gather information, verify facts, and craft clear, concise scripts.
Candidates should possess Broadcasting and Presenter skills to deliver news confidently, clearly, and engagingly across digital and video platforms.
Candidates should possess Broadcast Journalism expertise, with understanding of journalistic ethics, newsroom workflows, and digital media practices.
Excellent verbal communication skills in English (and additional languages such as Tamil or other network languages are an advantage).
Ability to work remotely, meet tight deadlines, and adapt quickly to breaking news situations.
Strong on-camera presence, attentive listening, and the ability to handle interviews and live discussions professionally.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
Prior experience as a news anchor, reporter, or presenter in digital, television, or online news environments is highly beneficial.
