About the Role
Minimalist Hotels is looking for a proactive and detail-orientated Assistant HR Manager to support the complete HR function of the hotel. The role will be responsible for HR operations, employee records, payroll coordination, statutory compliances, hiring, training, and employee engagement.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of PF, ESI, payroll processes, HR documentation, and hospitality manpower requirements, with the ability to independently manage day-to-day HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Hiring
* Manage end-to-end recruitment for operational and corporate positions.
* Coordinate with department heads to understand manpower requirements.
* Source candidates through job portals, references, agencies, and other channels.
* Conduct initial screening and interviews, and coordinate final selections.
* Manage joining formalities and onboarding of new employees.
2. Payroll Management
* Coordinate and manage the monthly payroll process.
* Maintain accurate attendance, leave, overtime, and salary-related records.
* Coordinate salary inputs with the finance/accounts team.
* Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
* Handle employee salary-related queries and discrepancies.
3. PF & ESI Management
* Manage employee PF and ESI registrations and documentation.
* Ensure timely monthly PF & ESI filings and payments.
* Maintain statutory records and employee contribution details.
* Handle PF/ESI-related employee queries and coordinate with relevant authorities when required.
4. HR Compliances
* Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
* Maintain required HR registers, records, and documentation.
* Coordinate statutory returns, renewals, notices, and inspections where applicable.
* Keep HR policies and processes aligned with current compliance requirements.
5. Employee Data & HR Records
* Maintain updated employee master data and personnel files.
* Manage joining, confirmation, transfer, promotion, resignation, and exit documentation.
* Maintain attendance, leave, salary, and employee movement records.
* Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of employee information.
6. Training & Learning & Development
* Identify training requirements in coordination with department heads.
* Plan and coordinate employee training programmes.
* Maintain training calendars, attendance, feedback, and training records.
* Support induction and orientation programmes for new employees.
* Assist in developing employee learning and development initiatives.
7. Employee Engagement & HR Operations
* Support employee engagement activities and initiatives.
* Address day-to-day employee queries and coordinate resolutions.
* Assist in maintaining a positive and professional workplace environment.
* Support performance management, appraisals, and employee feedback processes.
* Assist the HR manager with daily HR operations and special projects.
Key Skills & Competencies
* Strong knowledge of PF, ESI, payroll, and HR compliance
* Good understanding of HR operations and labour laws
* Strong Excel / MS Office skills
* Excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to handle confidential employee information
* Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple HR activities
* Hospitality HR experience will be preferred.
Candidate Profile
* Graduate in HR, business administration, or a related field.
* 2–4 years of relevant HR experience.
* Candidates from the hotel/hospitality industry are preferred.
* Should be comfortable handling both HR operations and statutory responsibilities.
* Immediate joiners or candidates with short notice periods will be preferred.
