💡 Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Chemist (Lab) to manage and execute day-to-day laboratory operations, analytical testing, and quality control. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting precise chemical and physical evaluations on flour and premixes, ensuring 100% compliance with food safety parameters and FSSAI standards, and maintaining batch consistency across our ready-to-cook packaged food portfolios.
🔬 Qualification & Experience
Essential Qualification: Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc) in Chemistry OR Master's Degree (M.Sc) in Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Industrial Chemistry, or Material Science.
Hiring Preference: M.Sc candidates are preferred over B.Sc candidates, unless the B.Sc candidate possesses an extraordinary professional profile and standout expertise.
Experience Required:
B.Sc Graduates: 3 to 5 years of experience in a laboratory environment (Essential).
M.Sc Graduates: Minimum 1 year of experience in a laboratory environment (Essential).
Freshers: M.Sc Freshers are eligible for employment provided they demonstrate a strong core understanding of laboratory processes and chemistry.
Preferred Industry: Direct experience within the FMCG / Packaged Food Manufacturing / Ready-to-Cook (RTC) industry.
⚙️ Responsibilities
Flour & Premix Analysis: Perform routine chemical, physical, and sensory analysis on raw materials (flours, spices) and finished instant mixes (such as Khaman, Dhokla, Gota, and Idli and other premixes).
Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all laboratory testing complies with standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and local food safety regulatory frameworks (FSSAI).
Moisture & Shelf-Life Monitoring: Conduct moisture content profiling, particle size distributions, and accelerated stability tests to evaluate product shelf life and preservation standards.
Data Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed, and organized records of all test results, chemical parameters, batch tracking, and experimental data.
Equipment Calibration: Handle, calibrate, and maintain key laboratory instruments (e.g., moisture analyzers, pH meters, titrators, weighing scales) to guarantee measurement accuracy.
Process Improvement: Assist the production and R&D teams in troubleshooting product quality issues and optimizing formulations.
Batch Consistency Maintenance: Inspect and flag any structural or chemical deviations in raw flours or mixed batches before moving them to the packaging stage.
Inventory Management: Track and manage laboratory chemical inventory, reagents, and consumable items to ensure uninterrupted testing schedules.

Testing Accuracy & Precision: Maintain near-zero error rates in chemical compositions, mix profiling, and laboratory records.
Turnaround Time (TAT): Run timely evaluations on raw material shipments and production line samples to prevent manufacturing line downtime.
Compliance & Safety Audits: Secure flawless execution of lab safety guidelines and maintain absolute cleanliness and compliance during audits.
Batch Consistency: Ensure 100% consistency in formulation, color, taste, and texture across all instant food mix batches.
🌟 Preferred Skills
Strong foundational understanding of analytical, organic, or food chemistry principles.
Practical hands-on experience handling laboratory tools (pH meters, moisture balances, manual/auto titrators).
Familiarity with food testing standards, allergy warnings, and raw grain quality evaluation.
Sharp analytical thinking, robust problem-solving skills, and high attention to detail.
