Role Description The Director of Portfolio Management is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization’s portfolio of fintech events, initiatives, and strategic projects. This role involves defining portfolio objectives, aligning event and program investments with organizational goals, and prioritizing projects based on impact, risk, and resource requirements. The Director will review performance metrics, conduct financial and risk analyses, and make recommendations to enhance value and efficiency across the portfolio. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing program and project pipelines, establishing governance standards, and reporting portfolio performance and insights to senior leadership. The role also includes continuous improvement of portfolio management processes and supporting long-term strategic planning.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, assess risk, and support evidence-based decision-making.
Experience in project portfolio management and portfolio management, with a track record of optimizing initiatives and resource allocation.
Program management experience, including coordinating multiple projects and stakeholders within complex environments.
Solid foundation in finance, with the ability to evaluate budgets, ROI, and financial performance of portfolios.
Proven leadership skills, including stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and clear communication with senior executives.
Experience in or strong interest in the fintech sector and event-based or innovation-driven organizations.
Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, manage time independently, and use digital collaboration tools.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification in portfolio or project management is an asset.
