Position Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Accessories Designer to join our team and support the creative department in creating licensed bags, purses, backpacks, lunch boxes, belts and other similar accessories. As we embark on developing a new collection, we need someone who can bring their expertise and creativity to our exciting projects for multiple licenses such as Disney and Marvel, catering to all age ranges and genders. The designer will be responsible for creating innovative concepts that appeal to different age groups and genders while meeting brand and licensing guidelines.
It is required to have a previous 4-7 years experience in the fashion and accessories industry and some knowledge of its process and system. The portfolio must showcase previous work in the same industry. Previous licensed product experience will be considered a strong plus.
Responsibilities
Identify trends and creatively incorporate them into licensed and non-licensed commercials that are feasible for producing accessories products.
Design a variety of accessories for Disney and Marvel licenses, ensuring they meet brand guidelines and appeal to diverse demographics.
Create original seasonal licensed prints/screen artwork that stands out from the competition.
Work closely with the product development team to ensure designs are cost-effective and manufacturable.
Communicate effectively throughout all project stages with detailed handovers.
Manage multiple design projects, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, sourcing, and licensing.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field with at least 4+ years of experience within the category.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Proven experience in accessories design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
Some experience with licensed products and knowledge of the licensing process and guidelines.
Understanding of the industry processes, materials, and product development.
Ability to work independently and remain flexible, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, shifting focus as needed to meet business priorities.
Previous experience working B2B, with startup companies and American clients.
Hard Skills
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Ability to create tech packs and detailed design specifications for factories.
Understanding of design principles such as composition, color theory, and typography.
General knowledge of accessories manufacturing such as materials, printing techniques, and construction methods.
Strong communication skills being able to clearly and concisely communicate their needs to the team.
