Settlement Coordinator

🚀 We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Settlement Coordinator with experience working in New Jersey Personal Injury law firms.
This role is responsible for managing the entire post-settlement process, including settlement documentation, lien resolution, medical bill negotiations, financial disbursements, and file closure.
The ideal candidate has experience handling personal injury settlements from execution through completion and is knowledgeable about New Jersey personal injury procedures, medical billing, and lien resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Manage personal injury cases through all post-settlement stages until final file closure.
Prepare, review, and finalize settlement statements and client disbursements.
Gather, review, and resolve outstanding medical bills and provider balances.
Negotiate reductions of medical bills, liens, provider balances, and Letters of Protection (LOPs).
Handle Medicare, Medicaid, HMS, and other third-party reimbursement liens.
Coordinate trust account distributions and settlement payments.
Maintain accurate case records within the firm's case management system.
Complete all final administrative and financial closing procedures.
Requirements
✅ 1 to 3 years of experience as a:
Settlement Coordinator
Personal Injury Legal Assistant
Personal Injury Paralegal
✅ Experience must be with a New Jersey Personal Injury law firm.
✅ Strong experience managing post-settlement processes from start to finish.
✅ Knowledge of:
New Jersey Personal Injury procedures
Medical billing and provider account management
Medicare, Medicaid, and HMS liens
Letters of Protection (LOPs)
✅ Experience with legal case management systems such as Needles, SmartAdvocate, Filevine, Litify, or similar.
