Psalm’s Wings Holdings Limited is an emerging aviation and human capital group building an integrated ecosystem across aviation services, travel and tourism, human capital, aircraft leasing and acquisition, and aviation education and professional development.
The Group is structured to operate through specialised subsidiaries, with a long-term vision of developing a professionally governed aviation enterprise with strong operational systems, regulatory compliance, strategic partnerships and international standards.
We are currently at the pre-investment stage and are assembling our senior leadership team ahead of investment, regulatory progression and operational commencement.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Group Chief Operating Officer (Group COO) with substantial knowledge of the Nigerian aviation industry to provide operational leadership across the Group and its subsidiaries.
This is a pre-investment contract appointment. The successful candidate will initially serve under a defined contractual engagement while the Group completes its investment and operationalisation phase. Remuneration and the applicable executive employment package will commence following investment and the commencement of funded operations, subject to the agreed terms of appointment.
The Group COO will work closely with the Chairman/Group President and senior leadership to establish operational structures, policies, controls, performance systems and implementation frameworks required for the Group's next stage of development.
Key Responsibilities
The Group COO will be responsible for:
Providing strategic and operational leadership across the Group and its subsidiaries.
Developing and implementing Group-wide operational policies, procedures, SOPs and performance standards.
Coordinating the activities of subsidiary Managing Directors/CEOs and operational heads.
Establishing effective operational reporting, accountability and performance-monitoring systems.
Supporting the Group's regulatory, licensing, compliance and institutional engagement strategy.
Maintaining professional relationships with relevant aviation authorities, regulators, industry bodies and strategic partners.
Supporting engagements involving the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), ICAO, FAAN and IATA, where applicable.
Identifying operational, regulatory, safety, commercial and organisational risks and developing appropriate mitigation measures.
Supporting the development and implementation of aviation partnerships, MOUs and strategic operational relationships.
Reviewing operational plans, budgets, resources and readiness requirements across subsidiaries.
Establishing appropriate standards for safety, service delivery, documentation, compliance and corporate governance.
Supporting recruitment, onboarding and performance management of key operational personnel.
Preparing operational reports, recommendations and implementation updates for the Chairman and Board/Group leadership.
Driving execution of approved Group strategies and ensuring that agreed milestones are delivered.
Representing the Group professionally in appropriate industry, regulatory and stakeholder engagements.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
Minimum of 10 years' professional experience within the Nigerian aviation sector.
Demonstrable senior-level aviation operational experience.
Strong working knowledge of the NCAA regulatory environment and Nigerian aviation industry structure.
Demonstrable understanding of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and international aviation frameworks.
Working knowledge of FAAN operations and the Nigerian airport ecosystem.
Working knowledge of IATA standards, systems and industry practices.
Experience working with or engaging relevant aviation regulators, authorities, airlines, airports, aviation service providers or industry stakeholders.
Strong understanding of aviation compliance, safety, operational risk and corporate governance.
Proven ability to develop and implement operational systems and SOPs.
Strong leadership, stakeholder-management, negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to operate at Group/Executive level and coordinate multiple business units.
Strong analytical, strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
High level of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality and accountability.
Relevant academic and/or professional qualifications in Aviation, Transport Management, Business Administration, Management, Engineering or a related discipline will be advantageous.
