Role Description This part-time, remote Medical Author / Health Content Creator role centers on developing high-quality, evidence-based medical and health content for digital publication. Day-to-day tasks include researching current clinical guidelines and peer-reviewed literature, drafting and revising articles, patient education materials, and other health communications, and collaborating with editors to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy. The role also involves tailoring content for different audiences, such as patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, and aligning materials with Library Medicine’s editorial standards and ethical practices. In addition, the position includes opportunities for revenue share based on content performance and direct sales of authored materials, rewarding creators who produce high-impact, widely used resources.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Scientific Writing and Medical Writing to produce accurate, evidence-based health content.
Candidates should possess skills in Medical Communications and Writing to translate complex clinical information into clear, audience-appropriate materials.
Candidates should possess solid Research skills to identify, interpret, and synthesize current medical literature and guidelines.
Relevant background such as a degree in medicine, life sciences, public health, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in healthcare or medical publishing.
Demonstrated ability to write for digital platforms, adhere to style guides, and meet deadlines while working independently in a remote setting.
Familiarity with ethical standards in medical communication, including transparency, unbiased presentation of evidence, and respect for diverse audiences.
Experience with content management systems, basic SEO principles for health content, or prior work in patient education is beneficial.
