Role Description The Senior Sales Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for driving technical sales and supporting customers across India. This role involves identifying customer needs, proposing suitable work-holding and tooling solutions, preparing and delivering technical presentations, and following up on leads to convert opportunities into sales. The Senior Sales Engineer will collaborate closely with customers’ engineering and production teams, provide pre- and post-sales technical support, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely quotations, order processing, and deliveries. Daily activities include customer visits, product demonstrations, application problem-solving, and maintaining detailed records of accounts, opportunities, and market feedback. The role also includes contributing to sales strategies, participating in industry events, and supporting training initiatives to strengthen product adoption and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Sales Engineering skills, including solution-based selling and application-oriented product demonstration.
Candidates should possess solid Technical Support capabilities, including troubleshooting, installation guidance, and application consulting.
Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear technical explanation, presentation, and documentation abilities.
Candidates should possess proven Sales skills, including opportunity management, negotiation, and closing deals in industrial or manufacturing markets.
Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills, with a focus on responsiveness, relationship building, and long-term account management.
Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Mechanical, Production, or related Engineering field, with experience in tooling, work-holding, or capital equipment sales.
Ability to travel for customer visits, proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools, and familiarity with the Indian manufacturing landscape.
Prior experience in a senior or lead sales engineering role and exposure to international principals or imported industrial products is beneficial.
