About Us
We are a globally focused organization committed to optimizing subsurface resources, reservoir performance, and energy production through advanced engineering, data analysis, technology, and integrated asset management.
Our teams collaborate across Reservoir Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Drilling, Production, Facilities, Economics, Data Science, Operations, and external technical partners to maximize asset value while maintaining strong technical, operational, and environmental standards.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Reservoir Engineering Manager to lead reservoir engineering strategy, subsurface evaluation, field development planning, production optimization, reservoir surveillance, reserves assessment, and technical decision-making across oil, gas, and other subsurface assets.
The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership throughout the reservoir lifecycle, from exploration appraisal and development planning through production optimization, enhanced recovery, reserves management, and late-life asset strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement reservoir engineering strategies aligned with asset objectives and business plans.
Lead reservoir engineering studies for exploration, appraisal, development, production, and mature-field assets.
Evaluate reservoir performance, fluid behavior, pressure response, production trends, and recovery potential.
Integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, production, drilling, and reservoir engineering data.
Develop and maintain reservoir models and simulation workflows for field development and optimization.
Coordinate static and dynamic reservoir modeling activities and ensure appropriate model quality and consistency.
Define reservoir characterization requirements, data gaps, uncertainty ranges, and surveillance priorities.
Conduct material-balance, pressure-transient, well-performance, decline-curve, and reservoir-performance analyses.
Evaluate reservoir drive mechanisms, fluid contacts, compartmentalization, connectivity, and depletion behavior.
Develop production forecasts, recovery estimates, reserves evaluations, and development scenarios.
Lead field development planning and evaluate alternative well locations, well counts, completion strategies, and production concepts.
Assess infill drilling, workover, recompletion, sidetrack, stimulation, and artificial-lift opportunities.
Optimize well and reservoir performance through integrated production and reservoir studies.
Evaluate water injection, gas injection, pressure maintenance, miscible injection, and other enhanced-recovery opportunities where applicable.
Develop reservoir management plans covering pressure management, injection strategy, well sequencing, surveillance, and recovery optimization.
Establish reservoir surveillance programs using pressure, production, injection, fluid, tracer, and well-test data.
Monitor reservoir performance against forecasts and identify deviations, uncertainties, and corrective actions.
Lead reservoir performance reviews and provide recommendations for production optimization.
Evaluate well interference, communication, conformance, water breakthrough, gas breakthrough, and reservoir compartmentalization.
Support well-test design, pressure-transient analysis, interference testing, and reservoir characterization.
Assess PVT data, fluid properties, relative permeability, capillary pressure, and other reservoir-fluid parameters.
Coordinate laboratory studies and ensure reservoir engineering requirements are incorporated into testing programs.
Review core analysis, special core analysis, PVT reports, well logs, pressure data, and production information.
Establish appropriate assumptions, uncertainty ranges, sensitivities, and probabilistic scenarios for reservoir studies.
Lead history matching and uncertainty analysis for dynamic reservoir models.
Review simulation results and translate technical findings into practical development and operating recommendations.
Coordinate reservoir engineering input into annual business plans, budgets, reserves reviews, and long-range development plans.
Support reserves and resources estimation in accordance with applicable technical and reporting standards.
Ensure reservoir models, reserves estimates, production forecasts, and technical assumptions are properly documented and controlled.
Evaluate field economics and work with Finance and Economics teams to assess development and optimization opportunities.
Prepare technical and economic comparisons for development concepts, recovery strategies, and reservoir-management options.
Support investment decisions through robust reservoir performance forecasts and uncertainty analysis.
Identify opportunities to increase recovery, extend field life, reduce production decline, and improve asset value.
Support drilling and completion decisions through reservoir pressure, fluid, productivity, and geomechanical considerations.
Provide reservoir engineering input into well placement, completion design, stimulation, artificial lift, and production strategies.
Coordinate with Production Engineering to optimize well deliverability and reservoir performance.
Work with Geoscience teams to improve reservoir characterization and integrate new subsurface information.
Collaborate with Drilling and Completions teams to optimize well architecture and development sequencing.
Support facilities planning by providing production profiles, fluid forecasts, pressure requirements, and injection forecasts.
Evaluate reservoir risks associated with pressure depletion, water handling, gas processing, injection capacity, and facility constraints.
Lead technical reviews of reservoir studies, development plans, simulation models, forecasts, and major reservoir-management decisions.
Establish technical standards, workflows, quality-control procedures, and governance for reservoir engineering activities.
Manage reservoir engineering consultants, software providers, laboratories, and other technical service partners.
Define technical scopes, deliverables, schedules, budgets, and performance requirements for external studies.
Review and approve reservoir engineering reports, models, forecasts, technical assessments, and recommendations.
Develop and maintain reservoir engineering databases, models, documentation, assumptions, and technical knowledge repositories.
Promote advanced analytics, automation, machine learning, digital twins, and data-driven reservoir optimization where appropriate.
Evaluate emerging reservoir technologies and recommend applications that provide measurable technical or economic value.
Ensure reservoir engineering activities comply with applicable technical, regulatory, environmental, and corporate requirements.
Develop succession plans, technical training programs, mentoring initiatives, and capability-development plans for reservoir engineers.
Promote knowledge sharing, peer reviews, technical assurance, and continuous improvement across subsurface teams.
Provide senior management with regular reports covering reservoir performance, production forecasts, reserves, risks, opportunities, and development recommendations.
