Role Description The IT Support Specialist role at Off-Def Security is a part-time remote position focused on providing technical assistance to internal teams and community-facing platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, supporting desktop computer environments, and managing help desk requests via ticketing systems and messaging platforms. The IT Support Specialist will monitor system performance, assist with account and access management, and escalate complex issues to senior technical staff when necessary. This role also supports the stability of tools used for content delivery and community engagement, ensuring a reliable and secure experience for staff and users.
Qualifications
Strong Technical Support and Help Desk Support skills for assisting users, managing tickets, and resolving common IT issues.
Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Desktop Computers, including operating systems, basic networking, and peripheral configuration.
Foundational knowledge of Information Technology concepts, including security best practices, system maintenance, and user access management.
Effective communication skills for explaining technical concepts clearly to non-technical users and documenting solutions.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and respond promptly to support requests.
Experience with ticketing systems, remote support tools, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Teams, or similar) is beneficial.
Relevant certification or coursework (e.g., CompTIA A+, IT support training) is a plus.
Interest in cybersecurity and willingness to learn about tools and practices used within the Off-Def Security community.
