Job Title: Teamcenter Data Migration Engineer / Consultant
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Teamcenter Data Migration Engineer with experience in migrating PLM data from legacy systems into Siemens Teamcenter. The role involves data analysis, mapping, extraction, transformation, validation, migration, and post-migration support while ensuring data integrity and compliance with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze legacy PLM/PDM data and Teamcenter target structures.
Develop data migration strategies, mapping documents, and migration plans.
Extract data from legacy systems and transform it into Teamcenter-compatible formats.
Perform migration of:
Items and Item Revisions
BOMs / Product Structures
Datasets and files
Documents
CAD data
Users, groups, and ownership information
Classification data
Metadata and attributes
Develop and execute migration utilities, scripts, and workflows.
Work with Teamcenter ITK, SOA, utilities, or other migration tools where applicable.
Perform data cleansing, deduplication, and validation before migration.
Execute test migrations and resolve migration errors.
Validate migrated data against source data and business rules.
Support cutover, production migration, and post-migration activities.
Prepare migration reports, reconciliation reports, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with PLM architects, business users, CAD teams, and technical teams.
Required Skills:
Strong experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM.
Hands-on experience in Teamcenter data migration.
Knowledge of Teamcenter data model, Item/Revision, Dataset, BOM, and relationships.
Experience with Teamcenter ITK/SOA and migration utilities.
Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Experience with data extraction, transformation, mapping, and validation.
Knowledge of Teamcenter BMIDE and workflows.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of PLM/PDM concepts.
Preferred Skills:
Experience migrating from systems such as ENOVIA, Windchill, Agile, SAP PLM, or other legacy PDM/PLM systems.
Knowledge of CAD data migration.
Experience with Teamcenter Active Workspace.
Scripting/programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or shell scripting.
Experience preparing migration automation and reconciliation tools.
Experience:
Typically 3–8+ years in Teamcenter/PLM, with hands-on experience in data migration projects.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
