Role Description The Head of Collections will lead and oversee the end-to-end collections function, ensuring timely recovery of dues while maintaining regulatory compliance and a fair customer experience. This full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram involves designing and implementing collections strategies, setting performance targets, and monitoring portfolio performance across different product lines. The role includes managing and mentoring collections teams, optimizing workflows, and collaborating with finance, risk, and operations to reduce delinquencies and improve recovery rates. The Head of Collections will review analytics and MIS reports, identify trends, and drive process improvements, including the use of digital tools and automation. The position also involves handling escalated cases, coordinating with legal and external agencies where required, and ensuring adherence to ethical and industry-standard collection practices.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Debt Collection and Collections Management skills to handle diverse portfolios and drive effective recovery strategies.
Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret data, track KPIs, assess risk, and make data-informed decisions.
Candidates should possess proven Team Management capabilities to lead, coach, and develop high-performing collections teams.
Candidates should possess a good understanding of Finance to align collection processes with credit policies, compliance requirements, and business objectives.
Relevant experience in leadership roles within collections or recovery in financial services, NBFCs, banks, or fintech organizations.
Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills with a customer-respecting approach.
Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and best practices related to debt collection and consumer protection.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; advanced qualifications (e.g., MBA or specialized certifications) are an advantage.
