Senior Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:
Problem solve, design, and develop solutions around the financial product experiences in the BFSI domain for Retail Consumers.
Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Business teams across multiple products to drive buy-in on customer experiences and engineering frameworks.
Make critical decisions that contribute to the success of Navi.
Work closely with your and other engineering teams with a keen eye toward scalable architecture to design and implement new 0 1 solutions with an appetite to quickly scale from 1 n across products.
Build an engineering team and move fast in converting ideas to products collaborating with Products, Design, Leadership, and other functions, while maintaining high product quality and reliability.
Drive customer-first behavior and ownership behavior in the team to make sure the highest quality products are shipped to the customers.
Empowering the delivery team to self-coordinate.
Staying ahead of the curve by lending a stable structure to the teams and products while bringing operational excellence as products mature.
Ensure teams have clear priorities and adequate resources.
Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.
Requirements:
12+ years of overall experience with 3+ years of Engineering Management experience, managing a diverse set of candidates (frontend, backend, mobile), across various technologies.
Good software engineering methodology- meaningful and deeply-rooted opinions about testing and code quality, ability to make sound quality/speed trade-offs.
Exceptional technical skills in the backend with significant experience building and operating critical high-scale systems with a hands-on approach to lead from the front when the situation calls for it.
Experience with web technologies and microservices architecture, Java, Kotlin, Linux, MySQL, elastic search, Memcache, Redis, javascript, react, etc.
Experience with API Design, ability to architect and implement intuitive customer flows.
Ability to think and analyze both breadth-wise (client, server, DB, control flow) and depth-wise (threads, sessions, space-time complexity) while designing.
Have strong design and architectural skills.
Expertise and interest in growing teams- interviewing junior and senior engineers, collaborating with a recruiting team, smoothly onboarding new team members.
Great management and team development skills - the ability to set roadmap and goals for the teams and the members of his team, delegate intelligently, mentor engineers, deliver frequent and honest feedback, help team members grow in their careers, and deliver results.
