Role Description The undergraduate student consultant is a part-time, remote role that supports university initiatives, projects, and services through research, analysis, and problem-solving. In this position, the consultant will gather and interpret data, develop recommendations, and prepare concise reports or presentations for campus units or programs. Day-to-day tasks may include participating in virtual meetings with faculty or staff, collaborating with peers on project deliverables, and providing feedback to improve student services, academic programs, or community engagement efforts. The consultant will be expected to manage time effectively, meet agreed-upon deadlines, and maintain professional communication in a remote environment.
Qualifications
Strong analytical and research abilities, including gathering information, interpreting data, and drawing evidence-based conclusions.
Written and verbal communication skills suitable for preparing reports, presentations, and professional correspondence.
Ability to collaborate effectively in remote team settings, contribute ideas, and respond constructively to feedback.
Organizational and time-management skills to balance part-time consulting work with academic responsibilities.
Proficiency with common digital tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, video conferencing platforms).
Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at Morgan State University in good academic standing.
Demonstrated interest in community engagement, student success, or improving university programs and services.
Prior experience with project work, internships, or campus leadership roles is beneficial but not required.
