Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Chemist role based in Chennai. The Senior Chemist will lead laboratory activities, including formulation development, analytical testing, and validation of chemical products and processes. Daily responsibilities include planning and conducting experiments, maintaining accurate records, interpreting test results, and ensuring compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations. The role involves close collaboration with production, quality assurance, and R&D teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and support scale-up from lab to plant. The Senior Chemist will also mentor junior staff, ensure safe laboratory practices, and contribute to technical documentation and reports.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Laboratory Skills and be proficient in handling chemical reagents, instruments, and standardized testing procedures.
Candidates should possess solid Quality Control experience, including monitoring product specifications, implementing quality checks, and supporting corrective actions.
Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, method development, and use of analytical techniques and instruments.
Candidates should possess experience in Research and Development (R&D) and Research, including designing experiments, evaluating results, and contributing to product or process innovation.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Candidates should possess knowledge of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
Candidates should possess strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across functions and guide junior team members.
Prior experience in industrial or specialty chemicals manufacturing is preferred.
