Backend Security Engineer

Our partner, Micro1, is looking to hire experienced Backend Security Engineer to help improve AI models.
About the role
Apply your software engineering expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through high-quality, real-world input. Your work shapes how models learn, reason, and perform. No prior AI experience is required; your domain knowledge is what matters.
Create realistic, interesting, and challenging coding tasks involving feature implementation and bug fixes. Implement deterministic verifiers that accept reasonable valid solutions and reject everything else.
Process: apply and complete screening questions, complete an AI interview of approximately 30 minutes, complete a technical assessment if required, then proceed to hiring manager review.

Scope of Work
Create realistic coding tasks that challenge AI systems to implement features and fix bugs.
Build deterministic verifiers that accept reasonable valid solutions and reject invalid solutions.
What you’ll bring
Strong backend experience in Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++, or similar technologies.
A track record of building scalable services and APIs.
Comfort with debugging, performance work, and automated testing.
Solid code review instincts.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven backend development experience delivering high-quality, performant projects.
Cybersecurity or SecOps experience, including secure coding, application security, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, OWASP/CWE, or security-focused code reviews.
Demonstrated success identifying and resolving software bugs and system bottlenecks.
Experience refactoring codebases and implementing complex features in large-scale applications.
Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science concepts.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
