About the Role
We are seeking experienced Backend Security Engineers to create realistic, interesting, and challenging coding tasks that help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems. The work involves designing coding tasks around feature implementation and bug fixing, as well as building deterministic verifiers that accept reasonable valid solutions and reject invalid solutions.

Apply professional backend software engineering expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems.
Qualifications
Strong backend experience in Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++, or similar technologies.
Track record of building scalable services and APIs.
Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing.
Strong code review instincts.
Preferred Skills
Proven backend development experience delivering high-quality, performant projects.
Cybersecurity or SecOps experience, including secure coding, application security, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, OWASP/CWE, or security-focused code reviews.
Demonstrated success identifying and resolving software bugs and system bottlenecks.
Experience refactoring codebases and implementing complex features in large-scale applications.
Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science concepts.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.

Pay range and compensation package
Position: Backend Security Engineer
Advertised Pay: $30–$100 USD per hour
Payment Structure: Output-based; experts are paid per task that meets project specifications rather than receiving guaranteed hourly pay
Employment Type: Contractor

Time Commitment: Approximately 15 hours per week
Schedule: Flexible; choose your own hours and days, including weekends if desired
