Role Description The Director role at GirlScript Summer of Code is a full-time, on-site position based in Delhi, India. The Director oversees strategic planning and execution of the three-month program, including defining goals, timelines, and key deliverables. This role involves coordinating with mentors, project maintainers, and partner organizations to ensure smooth operations and high-quality participant experience. The Director is responsible for managing program communications, monitoring participant engagement and performance, and enforcing program guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include team leadership, stakeholder management, budget and resource oversight, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of program processes and outcomes.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in program or project management, preferably in education, technology, or community-driven initiatives.
Strong leadership skills, including team management, decision-making, and conflict resolution in dynamic environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with mentors, participants, partners, and internal teams.
Familiarity with open source development practices, software communities, or tech-focused non-profit work.
Ability to plan, organize, and execute large-scale events or programs with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines.
Comfort with data-driven decision-making, reporting on program outcomes, and implementing process improvements.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Technology, Management, Education, or Social Sciences) or equivalent practical experience.
