About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and skilled BESS Service Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the frontline technical expert responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of High Voltage (HV) Lithium battery packs and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
You will split your time evenly between on-site field operations and coordinating closely with our back-end BESS and Energy Management System (EMS) engineering teams to ensure optimal system performance and rapid issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
· Commissioning & Testing: Lead the on-site commissioning, testing, and integration of high-voltage lithium battery packs and associated BESS infrastructure.
· Maintenance & Cell-Level Servicing: Perform routine and corrective maintenance, including battery cell balancing, cell/module replacements, and servicing of High Voltage (HV) connection boxes.
· Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose and resolve complex field-related service problems, hardware faults, and communication errors.
· Sensor & Communication Support: Troubleshoot peripheral hardware, including basic sensor integration and communication protocols linking the DLW, FSS, chiller, BMS to the EMS.
· Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the vital link between field operations and the back-end BESS/EMS engineering teams, providing accurate logs, diagnostic data, and feedback from site.
· Safety & Compliance: Ensure all on-site activities strictly adhere to high-voltage electrical safety protocols and company compliance standards.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
· Experience: Proven hands-on experience in battery servicing, maintenance, and high-voltage lithium pack handling (minimum 2–4 years).
· Industry Background: Experience in stationary energy storage systems is a strong plus. Candidates with solid Electric Vehicle (EV) industry experience dealing with high-voltage packs will also be actively considered.
Technical Expertise:
· Strong proficiency in cell BMS balancing, module/cell replacement procedures, and HV box maintenance.
· Solid understanding of high-voltage lithium battery pack commissioning and field troubleshooting.
· Basic foundational knowledge of sensor operations and communication interfaces within energy storage systems.
· Field Readiness: Flexibility and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for on-site commissioning and emergency troubleshooting.
· Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to bridge field-level challenges with back-end engineering teams effectively.
· Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
