Senior Software Engineer

Swish is building a new way to experience food delivery — delivering fresh, everyday meals to customers in around 10 minutes.
We operate our own kitchens, supply chain, ordering platform and delivery network, giving us control over the entire customer experience. We’re building technology that helps us operate this system at scale across cities.
What you'll work on
Build and scale backend systems that power Swish's ordering, kitchen, delivery and customer experience.
Own projects end-to-end — from understanding the problem to designing, building, launching and improving the solution.
Design reliable, scalable APIs and services that can handle growing transaction volumes.
Work closely with Product, Design, Operations and Engineering teams to solve real business problems.
Improve system performance, reliability, observability and engineering processes.
Make technical decisions around architecture, databases, APIs and infrastructure.
Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to simplify or automate existing systems.
Review code, contribute to engineering standards and help raise the technical bar across the team.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.
What we're looking for
4–8 years of experience in software engineering.
Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, databases and system design.
Strong experience building and scaling backend systems and APIs.
Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, Java, Python, Node.js or similar.
Good understanding of SQL, relational databases and distributed systems.
Experience working with cloud platforms and modern engineering practices.
Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems and drive them to completion.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
Good to have
Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD.
Experience with event-driven systems, queues or streaming platforms.
Experience working on consumer, e-commerce, food-tech or logistics products.
Experience building and operating high-scale transactional systems.
