Company Description A1R is a full-service, NFL, NBA, and FIBA certified sports agency dedicated to maximizing the professional and personal value of its clients. The agency offers comprehensive representation, including contract negotiation, brand development, and career management for elite athletes. With a focus on long-term relationships, A1R supports clients through all stages of their careers, on and off the court or field. The team combines industry expertise, strong league and team connections, and strategic guidance to help clients achieve their goals.
Role Description This is a remote, contract role for an NBA Agent who brings an existing client list and established relationships within the league. The agent will manage and grow their player roster, negotiate player contracts, and advocate for clients’ best interests in team discussions and brand partnerships. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining regular communication with players, teams, and partners; monitoring market dynamics and salary trends; and identifying new opportunities for client visibility and income. The agent will collaborate with A1R’s internal team on marketing, legal review, and career strategy while ensuring compliance with NBA and players’ union regulations and agency policies.
This role is commision only, with the opportunuty for equity for the right candidate.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an NBA-certified agent or comparable professional representation role, with an existing client list and strong relationships across teams and league personnel.
Demonstrated contract negotiation, deal structuring, and advocacy skills, including experience securing player contracts, extensions, and endorsement agreements.
Strong understanding of NBA regulations, salary cap rules, collective bargaining agreements, and relevant union and compliance requirements.
Experience in athlete brand building, marketing, and public relations, including collaborating on social media, sponsorships, and community engagement initiatives.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality in high-stakes environments.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple clients and negotiations simultaneously, and respond quickly to time-sensitive developments.
Established professional network within the NBA ecosystem, including team executives, scouts, coaches, and corporate partners.
Bachelor’s degree in business, sports management, law, or a related field preferred; legal or financial literacy is highly beneficial.
