About the Internship
As a Corporate Finance Intern, you'll do realistic corporate finance work inspired by real company operations: analyzing financial statements, evaluating investments, planning capital allocation, and supporting decisions on financing, budgeting, and growth.
You'll learn how corporate finance teams assess performance, compare investment opportunities, and advise leadership on where to deploy capital.
Responsibilities
* Analyze income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for practice companies.
* Perform financial ratio analysis (liquidity, profitability, leverage, efficiency) and interpret trends.
* Build capital budgeting models for mock projects: NPV, IRR, payback period, and profitability index.
* Compare investment opportunities using risk-adjusted return metrics.
* Evaluate financing options (debt vs. equity) and their impact on cost of capital.
* Build weighted average cost of capital (WACC) estimates for mock companies.
* Analyze working-capital positions and recommend cash management improvements.
* Build operating budgets and rolling forecasts for mock business units.
* Create budget vs. actual variance reports with management commentary.
* Assess dividend and share-repurchase policy trade-offs for mock companies.
* Analyze the financial impact of pricing, expansion, and cost-reduction initiatives.
* Build M&A target screening models and synergy estimates for hypothetical deals.
* Prepare investment committee-style memos recommending or rejecting projects.
* Benchmark company performance against industry peers using public data.
* Model the financial effects of macroeconomic changes on corporate cash flows.
* Build executive dashboards and KPI scorecards for mock leadership teams.
* Research industry and credit benchmarks to ground financial assumptions.
* Evaluate capital structure and leverage scenarios for mock companies.
* Model cash flow impacts of major strategic decisions.
* Perform scenario analyses (base, upside, downside) on corporate plans.
* Use AI tools to accelerate research, data cleanup, and documentation.
* Present findings, recommendations, and financial justifications to stakeholders.
Requirements
* Current student or recent graduate in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Strong interest in corporate finance, investment analysis, and financial decision-making.
* Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with financial data.
* Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel or Google Sheets); formulas a must, modeling experience a plus.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, including presenting numbers clearly.
* Ability to check your own work and keep analyses clean and well-documented.
* Interest in how companies fund growth and allocate capital.
* Familiarity with financial statements (income, balance sheet, cash flow) is a plus but not required.
* Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms is a plus.
* Previous professional finance experience is not required.
What You'll Gain
* Hands-on experience doing corporate finance analysis like real finance teams.
* Practical experience with capital budgeting, valuation, and ratio analysis.
* Experience building budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
* Understanding of cost of capital, capital structure, and financing decisions.
* Experience writing investment memos and presenting recommendations.
* Understanding of working-capital management and cash planning.
* Experience benchmarking companies against industry peers.
* Practical exposure to M&A screening and synergy modeling.
* Experience using AI and modern finance tools.
* Portfolio-ready corporate finance projects.
* Personalized AI feedback on your work.
* Professional certificate upon successful completion.
* Mentorship and weekly learning sessions.
* Opportunity to strengthen your portfolio, resume, and interview readiness.
