About the Internship
As a Business Strategy Intern, you'll work on realistic challenges centered on business strategy — market sizing, competitive analysis, growth-strategy design, unit economics, and executive-style recommendations for realistic company scenarios.
You'll learn how strategy teams think — issue trees and MECE breakdowns, hypothesis-driven analysis, benchmarking, scenario planning, and turning data into crisp, decision-ready narratives.
Responsibilities
* Break down ambiguous business problems with structured issue trees (MECE).
* Size markets with top-down and bottom-up estimation methods.
* Analyze competitors' positioning, pricing, and go-to-market moves.
* Build benchmarks across industries and realistic company profiles.
* Evaluate growth levers: pricing, acquisition, retention, partnerships, expansion.
* Model unit economics and simple business cases for strategic options.
* Run SWOT and PESTEL-style analyses for realistic market scenarios.
* Design scenario plans with triggers, options, and trade-offs.
* Draft executive-style one-pagers, memos, and presentation decks.
* Define success metrics and KPIs for proposed strategic initiatives.
* Map stakeholders and decision processes for realistic organizations.
* Research industry trends and distill them into strategic implications.
* Pressure-test recommendations with counter-arguments and risk checks.
* Prepare board-style briefs that tell a clear strategy story.
* Collaborate with other interns on cross-functional strategy projects.
Requirements
* Current student or recent graduate in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field — or a strong self-taught portfolio of projects.
* Strong interest in business strategy and how companies win markets.
* Analytical thinking with comfort around numbers, frameworks, and trade-offs.
* Clear, structured writing — able to turn analysis into recommendations.
* Comfort working with ambiguity and sharpening vague problems.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently on research and analysis.
* Curiosity about industries, competition, and market dynamics.
* Familiarity with spreadsheets and basic modeling is a plus.
* Previous professional strategy or consulting experience is not required.
