We're looking for curious, analytical, and ambitious students to join our AI Data Engineering Internship and gain hands-on experience with the data foundations of real AI products — how training data is collected, cleaned, validated, and piped into machine-learning systems.
About the Internship
As a AI Data Engineering Intern, you'll work on realistic challenges centered on data engineering for AI — building data pipelines, cleaning and validating datasets, and making sure the data behind models is reliable, fresh, and well-organized.
You'll learn how AI teams turn raw, messy data into training-ready assets — ingestion, transformation, quality checks, storage, and the automation that keeps data flowing.
Responsibilities
* Build data ingestion pipelines from APIs, files, and databases.
* Clean, normalize, and deduplicate messy real-world datasets.
* Implement data validation and quality checks at each pipeline stage.
* Design schemas and data models for training and analytics workloads.
* Automate ETL/ELT workflows with scheduling and monitoring.
* Version datasets and track lineage (where data came from, what changed).
* Work with SQL for extraction, transformation, and analysis.
* Build dashboards that surface data quality and pipeline health.
* Optimize queries and pipelines for speed and cost.
* Handle structured and unstructured data (text, images, documents).
* Implement error handling, retries, and alerting in pipelines.
* Profile datasets — distributions, missing values, outliers, and biases.
* Document pipelines, schemas, and data contracts clearly.
* Collaborate with other interns on cross-functional AI projects.
* Translate real-world data problems into scalable pipeline solutions.
Requirements
* Current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field — or a strong self-taught coding portfolio.
* Strong interest in data and how it powers AI products.
* Basic programming skills (Python is a plus).
* Basic SQL knowledge (a strong plus).
* Comfortable with data formats like CSV, JSON, and Parquet.
* Analytical and logical thinking with close attention to detail.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently on technical challenges.
* Comfortable experimenting, failing fast, and iterating.
* Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms is a plus.
* Previous professional data engineering experience is not required.
