Role Description The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time, remote leadership role responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of PMG’s technology platforms and tools that support investment research, portfolio analytics, and operational workflows. This role involves managing engineering teams, setting technical direction, and coordinating with product and investment stakeholders to ensure systems align with organizational goals. Day-to-day activities include defining engineering roadmaps, prioritizing projects, reviewing software architecture, and ensuring high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions. The Vice President of Engineering will also implement best practices in engineering management, foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, and mentor team members to enhance technical expertise and performance. Additionally, this role will partner with leadership to evaluate new technologies and tools that can improve data analysis, reporting, and overall investment decision-making processes.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in engineering management and team leadership, with the ability to guide, mentor, and develop diverse engineering teams.
Strong background in software development, including experience with modern software architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance practices.
Proficiency in project management, with a track record of planning, executing, and delivering complex technical initiatives on time and within scope.
Experience in product development, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment and align technical strategy with organizational objectives.
Proven experience in leading engineering functions in technology, finance, or data-driven organizations; exposure to investment or analytics platforms is beneficial.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructures, data security, and scalable system design is highly desirable.
