About The Role
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing mechanical components and assemblies, preparing detailed drawings and documentation, and supporting manufacturing and assembly processes. This role involves utilizing advanced 3D CAD software to develop innovative solutions, configuring standard products for various projects, and ensuring that all designs adhere to quality and revision control standards. The engineer will collaborate closely with manufacturing, assembly, and purchasing teams to facilitate seamless product development and production. Additionally, maintaining standard assemblies, participating in continuous improvement initiatives, and providing technical support during machine commissioning are integral parts of this position. Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a BSME or BS in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience/education. Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, particularly Solid Edge, is essential. Candidates should have experience with PDM/PLM vault systems for revision control and be adept with MS Office products. A willingness to travel up to 15% is required. The role benefits from 1-4 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, especially in machine tool design, automated systems, or related fields. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills are also important. Prior experience with machine design, pneumatic schematics, and configuration of standard products will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Design mechanical machines and assemblies based on original concepts or existing frameworks, starting with technical specifications and culminating in comprehensive documentation for procurement.
Prepare fabrication drawings, assembly manuals, supporting documentation, and bills of materials aligned with project scope.
Utilize 3D CAD software to develop detailed designs, configure standard products, and specify actuators such as cylinders and motors.
Design pneumatic systems, including schematics and component selection, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
Manage design data to ensure revisions are properly tracked and BOM data remains current.
Establish and maintain standard assemblies, promoting consistency and efficiency across projects.
Adhere to department checklists and mechanical design processes to ensure quality standards are met.
Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance design and manufacturing processes.
Assist assembly personnel during machine conditioning and provide technical support during the manufacturing process.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot design-related issues, optimize assembly procedures, and resolve manufacturing difficulties related to parts, drawings, or design concepts.
