About The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves designing and developing innovative machinery and assemblies based on both original concepts and established ideas. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical documentation, including fabrication and assembly drawings, manuals, and bills of materials (BOMs), utilizing advanced 3D CAD software. The position requires close collaboration with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure seamless production processes and adherence to quality standards. Additionally, the engineer will play a vital role in maintaining standard assemblies, supporting manufacturing during machine assembly and troubleshooting, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly Solid Edge, is essential, along with experience using MS Office tools. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be willing to travel up to 15% of the time. Prior experience with PDM/PLM systems for revision control and familiarity with machine tool design, including automated saws, drills, routers, fixtures, die work, and servos, are highly preferred. A background in designing automated machinery and a strong understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Design machinery and assemblies based on technical specifications and innovative concepts, ensuring accurate documentation for procurement and manufacturing.
Create detailed fabrication, assembly drawings, manuals, and BOMs aligned with project scope and technical requirements.
Utilize 3D CAD software to develop and refine machine designs, configure standard products, and specify actuators such as cylinders and motors.
Design pneumatic schematics and specify pneumatic valves to support machine functionality.
Manage design data to ensure compliance with revision control procedures and keep BOM data current.
Establish and maintain standard assemblies to streamline manufacturing and assembly processes.
Participate in quality assurance by following departmental checklists and mechanical design processes, contributing to continuous improvement activities.
Assist manufacturing and assembly teams during machine conditioning, troubleshooting design-related issues, and providing technical support for assembly steps.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing difficulties related to design, part numbering, or drawings, ensuring smooth production flow.
