Candidates should live in, work extensively in, or have substantial development experience and relationships within one of these priority markets. This is a market leadership role requiring the ability to lead complex real estate development opportunities from initial market strategy through execution.

This Is Not a Traditional Development Role
Urbana Systems is building a national development platform designed to transform underutilized commercial and industrial real estate into next-generation mixed-use communities.
We are looking for accomplished real estate development leaders who know how to take complex opportunities from idea to execution—and who want the autonomy, resources, and platform to do it at a high level.
The Vice President of Development (VPD) serves as the senior development leader for an assigned market or region, responsible for identifying opportunities, building the local development network, and leading projects through acquisition, feasibility, entitlement, design, construction, and delivery.
This is a role for builders, operators, problem solvers, and market leaders.
What You Will Do
You will lead the development effort in your market.
That means identifying and evaluating opportunities, building relationships with property owners and brokers, working with municipalities and utilities, assembling local architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and other specialists, and leading projects through the realities of development.
You will work within a national operating platform that provides development strategy, site-selection intelligence, building investigation protocols, project controls, AI infrastructure requirements, innovative building systems, KPIs, and a Development Playbook designed to help experienced leaders move faster and make better decisions.
The system provides structure without handcuffs.

You May Be a Strong Fit If You
Have 15+ years of progressive real estate development leadership experience.
Have personally led complex projects through acquisition, feasibility, entitlement, design, construction, and delivery.
Understand development economics, capital, schedule, risk, and optionality.
Have meaningful experience working with municipalities, utilities, consultants, contractors, and other development partners.
Bring strong market relationships and know how to build new ones.
Know how to assemble and lead high-performing development teams.
Think like an owner and protect capital.
Are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
Are entrepreneurial, self-directed, curious, and resourceful.
Know when to follow a proven process—and when experience and judgment require a different path.
