Vietnam Country Head, Financial Institutions

About the Role
As Country Manager for Vietnam, you will be our on-the-ground leader responsible for developing and executing our market entry strategy. This is a hands-on, expert-level role — you will independently drive business development, build strategic partnerships, and deliver results from day one. We're looking for a self-starting professional who can open doors and close deals personally.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end financial institution business development in Vietnam, with a focus on correspondent banks, cross-border payment companies, payment/acquiring institutions, and fintech partners
Identify, negotiate, and execute strategic partnerships to build payment infrastructure and accelerate our Southeast Asia expansion
Own the Vietnam market from 0 to 1 — from market research and partner mapping to contract signing and project go-live
Serve as the primary local point of contact for partners and internal stakeholders
Provide market intelligence and strategic recommendations to headquarters
Who We're Looking For
Deep local expertise: Long-term residence and work experience in Vietnam; extensive knowledge of the Vietnamese financial and payment landscape
Language skills: Fluent in Vietnamese and Chinese (Mandarin); English proficiency is a strong plus
Proven BD track record: Demonstrated success in financial institution partnerships, cross-border payments, or acquiring business in Vietnam
Existing network: Strong relationships with local banks, payment companies, acquiring institutions, or fintech players
Preferred backgrounds: Vietnamese local commercial banks, international banks, Chinese payment companies' overseas regional teams, cross-border payment firms, acquiring institutions, or leading fintech companies
Mindset: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and can operate independently
