Chief Data Officer

Role Description The Chief Data Officer (CDO) at GROUPEMENT DES CONCESSIONNAIRES CITROËN et DS AUTOMOBILES FRANCE is responsible for defining and executing the organization’s data strategy across all business units. This full-time remote role oversees data governance frameworks, ensures data quality and compliance, and drives data management best practices to support decision-making and operational efficiency. The CDO collaborates with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to identify data needs, prioritize initiatives, and translate business objectives into data-driven solutions. Day-to-day activities include leading data science and analytics projects, evaluating data tools and platforms, establishing performance metrics, and promoting a culture of data literacy throughout the organization. The role also involves managing data-related risks, overseeing data policies and standards, and communicating insights that support strategic planning and innovation.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in data governance, including developing policies, standards, and frameworks to ensure compliance and ethical data use.
Proficiency in data management and data quality practices, including data architecture, metadata management, and data validation processes.
Advanced analytical skills with experience in data analysis, reporting, and interpreting complex datasets to support strategic decisions.
Experience in data science, including knowledge of statistical methods, machine learning concepts, and data modeling to drive business insights.
Proven leadership experience in senior data roles, with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and business intelligence tools.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Relevant advanced degree in data science, computer science, information systems, business analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in automotive, retail, or related sectors is an advantage, as well as understanding of regulatory requirements for data in France and the EU.
