About the Opportunity:
The ONSITE-RELEASE OF INFORMATION SPECIALIST II is responsible for initiating and managing the release of medical records using specialized software. This role ensures that documentation is processed accurately and efficiently to maintain the integrity of sensitive health information. The position contributes to the organization by supporting compliance, customer service, and operational effectiveness in the release of information process.
Responsibilities:
Process medical release of information (ROI) requests promptly and accurately
Utilize Verisma software applications to manage requests
Support resolution of HIPAA-related issues concerning releases
Organize and prepare records and documents for release
Read and interpret medical records, forms, and authorizations
Provide professional customer service in person, by phone, or email
Maintain compliance and confidentiality using reference materials
Participate in required training sessions
Uphold and promote company values
Perform related duties as assigned to support department and organizational operations
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification preferred
Minimum 2 years experience with medical records
Minimum 2 years clerical or office work experience
Proficient with office equipment, desktop computers, scanners, and Microsoft Office Suite
Healthcare setting experience preferred
Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to Protected Health Information release preferred
Ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail
