Role Description Manual Tester / QA Engineer
Location: Kolkata
Experience: 2–3 Years
Employment Type: Full-Time
Department: Technology / QA
- Understand requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Perform functional, integration, system, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and E2E testing.
- Identify, document, and track defects using Jira or similar tools.
- Perform **API testing using Postman** and validate REST APIs, status codes, headers, and responses.
- Perform **database testing using SQL** queries.
- Conduct basic **load/performance testing** using JMeter, Postman, or similar tools.
- Perform regression and smoke/sanity testing for new releases and bug fixes.
- Collaborate with developers, BAs, and product teams during defect resolution and Agile ceremonies.
- Maintain test documentation, evidence, and quality reports.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of **Manual Testing, SDLC & STLC**.
- Experience with test case design techniques such as BVA, Equivalence Partitioning, Decision Tables, and State Transitions.
- Good understanding of **REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON/XML, and authentication**.
- Basic to intermediate **SQL** knowledge (SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY, ORDER BY, COUNT).
- Understanding of **Severity, Priority, Defect Lifecycle, and Root Cause Analysis**.
- Basic knowledge of Git, CI/CD, browser developer tools, and cross-browser/device testing.
- Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
