The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Shift Electrician in our Springhill Maintenance team based in Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
You will join a cross-functional team that ensures equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for quality and reliability. In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes, whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues are a priority.
This is a shift position working on a 4:4 12-hour 24 x 7 rotating roster, consisting of rotating days and night shifts, Monday through to Sunday.
What will you do?
With your proven understanding of industrial electrical systems, in this role you will:
follow the safe system of work and develop isolation instructions and job safety analysis for the required work
perform safe, efficient and effective emergency repairs
fault-find on electrical equipment including PLC’s and drive systems
fault find on steel processing equipment and cranes
perform equipment inspections, maintenance, identify improvement opportunities and report on findings

You are driven by self-development, committed to our success, and have technical experience within an industrial, manufacturing environment.
You will have:
electrical trade qualifications
current NSW Electrical License
experience working in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
proficient experience working with PLC’s and drives
have a strong commitment to safety
experience in fault finding and problem solving
initiative in carrying out equipment repairs
