About Empowered Cooks
Empowered Cooks is a growing ecommerce and media company that helps home cooks save time and feel more confident in the kitchen. We sell physical and digital products through Amazon and our own ecommerce channels, supported by an established content platform and a YouTube audience of more than 800,000+ subscribers.
We have a distributed team working across product development, operations, marketing, technology, finance, and customer experience.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AI business advisor and implementation coach to work directly with our owner on real opportunities inside the business.
This is not a traditional AI training role. We are not interested in learning tools, prompts, or concepts simply for the sake of learning them. Every engagement should connect to a genuine business decision, opportunity, problem, or workflow.
The right person will help us see what we cannot currently see. You will examine how we operate, challenge our assumptions, identify high-value opportunities, and help us apply AI in ways that improve profitability, decision-making, productivity, and growth.
Our initial priority will be financial analysis and strategic decision-making. Over time, the work could expand into marketing, customer analysis, conversion optimization, sales, product development, research, technical development, AI agents, automation, and other areas of the business.
This is an ongoing fractional relationship working directly with the owner.
What You’ll Do
Coach the owner in the practical use of AI across real business situations.
Improve the quality and speed of strategic and financial decision-making.
Analyze company data, expenses, services, processes, and opportunities.
Identify blind spots and overlooked ways AI could improve the business.
Help prioritize opportunities based on financial value, effort, risk, and strategic importance.
Challenge assumptions and redirect attention when we are solving the wrong problem.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs, replace unnecessary services, eliminate manual work, or improve team productivity.
Recommend practical AI tools, agents, automations, and workflows.
Help selected departments use AI more effectively when appropriate.
Prototype, implement, or guide the implementation of selected solutions.
Determine when we can solve something internally and when a specialist is genuinely needed.
Establish measurable outcomes and evaluate whether each solution produces real business value.
You do not need to personally build every solution. However, you must be able to take opportunities beyond ideas—whether by building a solution, creating a working prototype, directing implementation, or coaching us through execution.
Initial Areas of Focus
The first stage of the engagement will concentrate on financial and business analysis, including opportunities such as:
Improving financial visibility and management reporting.
Analyzing profitability by product, channel, initiative, or service.
Supporting better spending, hiring, and resource-allocation decisions.
Identifying unnecessary expenses, underperforming services, and inefficient workflows.
Creating AI-assisted systems for ongoing analysis and decision support.
Finding additional high-value AI opportunities across the organization.
These examples are not intended to prescribe the solutions. Part of your role is to help us determine where AI can create the greatest value.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 90 days, we expect to:
Develop a clear understanding of the most valuable AI opportunities within the business.
Prioritize those opportunities according to potential financial and operational impact.
Implement at least three practical solutions with measurable results.
Improve the owner’s ability to use AI for strategic and financial decisions.
Establish a repeatable process for identifying, testing, and evaluating future AI opportunities.
Gain clarity about where specialized expertise or additional implementation support may be justified.
Success will be measured by business outcomes—not by the number of tools introduced, meetings held, or recommendations presented.
Who We’re Looking For
We care more about demonstrated ability and judgment than a specific professional background.
You may be an AI consultant, founder, startup operator, fractional executive, financial strategist, automation builder, technical leader, or cross-functional business advisor.
Strong candidates will have:
A record of applying AI to real business problems.
Examples of AI agents, automations, analytical systems, or workflows they have personally built or helped implement.
Measurable examples of increased revenue, improved profitability, reduced expenses, saved time, or better decision-making.
Strong business and financial judgment.
Sufficient technical fluency to evaluate AI agents, automations, APIs, data analysis, and AI-assisted workflows.
The ability to translate technical possibilities into practical business decisions.
The confidence to challenge an owner directly and constructively.
A bias toward simple, cost-effective solutions.
The ability to distinguish a valuable opportunity from an interesting distraction.
Strong communication skills and the ability to guide someone without creating unnecessary complexity or dependence.
What This Role Is Not
This is not:
A generic AI course or prompt-training engagement.
A role focused on discussing AI trends without applying them.
A strategy engagement that ends with a presentation or list of recommendations.
A narrowly defined AI developer position.
An invitation to overengineer simple business problems.
An agency search or an opportunity to sell a large-scale AI transformation.
A mandate to replace existing systems merely because newer technology is available.
We want a practical partner who can help us think better, identify the right opportunities, and turn those opportunities into measurable business results.
Engagement Structure
This is a remote, ongoing fractional contractor role working directly with the owner of Empowered Cooks.
The exact schedule, meeting cadence, and balance between coaching, analysis, and implementation will be determined based on the strengths of the selected person and the needs of each project.
