Solar PV designer / Senior design engineer

Role Description The Solar PV Designer / Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for designing rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems, including system sizing, layout planning, and preparation of detailed drawings and documentation. Day-to-day tasks include site assessment, load analysis, preparation of single-line diagrams, cable routing plans, and mounting structure designs, as well as optimizing system performance and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role involves close collaboration with procurement, installation, and operations teams, reviewing vendor proposals, and supporting project execution with technical guidance and design clarifications. The designer will also maintain design records, update documentation based on field feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and templates. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Jaipur.
Qualifications
Strong skills in solar PV system design, including system sizing, layout planning, and preparation of single-line diagrams and engineering drawings.
Proficiency with relevant design and simulation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PV*SOL, PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar software).
Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, including load calculations, cable sizing, earthing, protection devices, and basic power system design.
Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for solar installations (e.g., IEC, IS standards, safety requirements, and local utility guidelines).
Ability to interpret site surveys, structural constraints, and shading analysis to optimize system layouts and performance.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with installation teams, vendors, and clients, including clear documentation and reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and safety in design work.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field; prior experience in solar PV design is highly preferred.
Willingness to work on-site in Jaipur and visit project locations as needed for design validation and coordination.
