Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Teamcenter Performance Architect to lead performance engineering, optimization, monitoring, and scalability initiatives across enterprise Siemens Teamcenter environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Teamcenter 2-tier/4-tier and web architectures, Active Workspace, FSC/FMS, Dispatcher, Multi-Site, BMIDE, Oracle database performance, JVM/application-server tuning, and infrastructure monitoring.
This role requires someone who can identify performance bottlenecks across the complete technology stack, establish performance baselines, conduct scalability testing, optimize Teamcenter and database environments, and develop long-term capacity and performance improvement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Teamcenter Architecture & Platform
Design, analyze, and optimize enterprise Teamcenter 2-tier, 4-tier, and web architectures.
Support Active Workspace, Enterprise Tier, Web Tier, FSC/FMS, Dispatcher, and Multi-Site environments.
Work with BMIDE, Teamcenter security model, TEM, and Deployment Center.
Support Teamcenter upgrades, migrations, patching, environment refreshes, and architectural improvements.
Analyze application architecture and identify areas impacting performance, scalability, and reliability.
Performance Engineering
Establish performance baselines and define SLAs, KPIs, and performance benchmarks.
Plan and execute load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.
Analyze critical Teamcenter transactions including:
User login
Search
BOM operations
JT visualization/downloads
File downloads
Dispatcher processing
Identify and isolate bottlenecks across the Teamcenter application, database, network, storage, and infrastructure layers.
Develop performance improvement plans, capacity models, sizing recommendations, and optimization roadmaps.
Conduct root-cause analysis for performance degradation and recurring issues.
Monitoring & Observability
Implement and maintain Teamcenter performance monitoring and synthetic transaction testing.
Work with Teamcenter Performance Monitor (TPM), Nagios, Splunk, Grafana, and Power BI.
Monitor JMX, JVM, processes, services, application logs, and system health.
Develop performance dashboards, thresholds, alerts, and trend-analysis mechanisms.
Monitor Dispatcher queues, scheduled jobs, Multi-Site communication, and system health.
Create operational runbooks and performance troubleshooting procedures.
Database & Application Performance
Perform Oracle SQL tuning, including execution-plan analysis, AWR/ASH analysis, statistics, and query optimization.
Analyze database performance and identify SQL, indexing, connection, and resource-related bottlenecks.
Tune application servers such as Tomcat/WebSphere.
Analyze JVM performance, heap utilization, garbage collection, and connection pools.
Correlate Teamcenter, application-server, database, and infrastructure metrics to determine root cause.
Infrastructure & Capacity Management
Diagnose performance issues across Linux and Windows environments.
Analyze CPU, memory, disk I/O, storage latency, network utilization, and system resources.
Support high-availability, load-balancing, and disaster-recovery architectures.
Perform capacity planning and infrastructure sizing for growing Teamcenter environments.
Partner with infrastructure, database, network, and application teams to resolve complex performance issues.
Mandatory Skills
Strong enterprise Siemens Teamcenter architecture and administration experience.
Hands-on knowledge of 2-tier, 4-tier, and web Teamcenter architectures.
Strong experience with Active Workspace, Enterprise Tier, Web Tier, FSC/FMS, Dispatcher, and Multi-Site.
Experience with BMIDE, Teamcenter security, TEM, and Deployment Center.
Teamcenter upgrades, migrations, patching, and environment refreshes.
Strong performance engineering and troubleshooting experience.
Experience with load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.
Strong Oracle database performance tuning skills.
Experience with AWR/ASH, execution plans, SQL tuning, and database statistics.
Knowledge of Tomcat/WebSphere, JVM, JMX, and connection-pool tuning.
Strong Linux/Windows performance diagnostics.
Experience with monitoring/observability tools such as Nagios, Splunk, Grafana, Power BI, and Teamcenter Performance Monitor.
Strong understanding of CPU, memory, storage, disk I/O, and network performance.
Experience with high availability, load balancing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Senior Teamcenter Architect / Performance Architect / Teamcenter Technical Architect with extensive experience supporting large-scale enterprise PLM environments.
They should be able to work across the complete Teamcenter technology stack—from Active Workspace and Teamcenter application tiers to Oracle databases, JVM/application servers, infrastructure, network, storage, and monitoring platforms.
