Role Overview
We’re expanding our team to include a domain-savvy Data Analyst who can help define and
validate key analytic concepts like treatment settings, episodes of care, and utilization flags in
data, in order to provide clear requirements for our engineering and product teams, who are
strong technical builders that rely on clear and vetted requirements grounded in domain
knowledge. This role is perfect for someone who’s naturally curious, proactive, and comfortable working in an environment where problems aren't always fully defined. You won’t be handed a rigid spec - you’ll be the one helping to create them, to ensure the products deliver accurate, useful insights that our clients trust. The role presents the opportunity to shape how we analyze and communicate healthcare complexity through data. You’ll work closely with product managers, customer success leads, data engineers, AI and BI engineers. You are encouraged to spot problems, dig in, and solve them without waiting for direction.
Key Responsibilities
• Translate clinical and operational concepts into data definitions
• Validate those definitions using real-world data and ensure they’re generalizable,
defensible and repeatable
• Build and test logic for identifying cohorts, treatment settings, services, provider types and
more in data
• Deliver validation artifacts and analysis that help justify business logic to internal and
external customers
• Write clear, structured requirements for BI engineers to implement the logic in new
product features, delivering well-reasoned definitions for key domains (e.g., “residential
treatment”, “psychotropic drugs”, “episode of care”)
• Build logic to support R&D or prototype functions
• Be the go-to expert on how our healthcare data maps to real-world use
• Support product / user analytics needs
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
• 5+ years of experience as a data analyst, healthcare researcher, or informaticist
• Deep familiarity with Medicaid or Medicare data including enrollment, eligibility,
claims/encounter structures and code sets
• Strong grasp of healthcare delivery models who can speak the language of both policy and
data
• Can read program manuals, state guidance, or clinical documents and translate them into
data logic
• Comfortable with SQL and Excel for data validation and exploration
• Self-starter with strong judgment; comfortable filling in gaps and proposing next steps
• Can quickly get oriented in new data and drive toward a clear output
• Love untangling ambiguity and making things clear for technical teams
• Have excellent documentation and communication skills
• Enjoy collaborating with product, engineering, and client-facing teams
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) or Program Integrity use
cases
• Familiarity with data quality challenges in healthcare or state Medicaid systems
• Comfort working on fast-paced teams where processes are evolving
• Exposure to BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
