Position Summary
This is a Senior Software Engineer role with a focus on AI Engineering. You will serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for designing, building, and delivering scalable software solutions across a variety of customer and business needs. While AI and machine learning initiatives will be a significant part of the role, not every project will involve AI. Depending on customer requirements, priorities, and business objectives, you may work on traditional software engineering projects, application development, system integrations, automation solutions, or AI-powered products.
As an early member of our technology team, you'll have the opportunity to influence technical architecture, evaluate emerging technologies, and help shape how AI is applied across autoLOTO's products and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications, services, APIs, and integrations.
Evaluate and implementation of AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs, OCR + rules engines, custom computer vision, hybrid architectures), machine learning solutions, intelligent automation, and generative AI applications when appropriate.
Assess business and customer requirements and determine the most effective technical approach, whether AI-driven or traditional software engineering.
Build production-ready solutions that balance performance, scalability, security, maintainability, and user experience.
Develop and maintain data pipelines, model evaluation frameworks, testing processes, and monitoring capabilities for AI-powered solutions.
Collaborate with Product, Customer Success, Operations, and Engineering teams to identify opportunities for technology-driven improvements.
Establish success metrics and measurement frameworks to evaluate business impact and technical performance.
Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across projects, helping drive engineering best practices and high-quality code standards.
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that align with customer needs and company strategy.
Deliver solutions iteratively, continuously measuring, learning, and improving outcomes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field required or equivalent combination of education, technical training, certifications, and relevant work such as 5+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable applications and services.
Experience working across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architecture through deployment and ongoing support.
Hands-on experience with AI Engineering, machine learning, generative AI, large language models (LLMs), intelligent automation, or related technologies.
Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript within a React ecosystem strongly preferred.
Strong proficiency in modern programming languages, software architecture, APIs, cloud technologies, and system integrations.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex business and technical challenges using both traditional software engineering and AI-driven approaches.
Experience evaluating technical solutions and making sound architectural decisions based on business requirements, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage ambiguity, and drive projects from concept through production deployment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven ability to prioritize customer and business needs and select the most appropriate technology solutions, whether AI-powered or traditional software development.
Experience working in Agile or similar software development environments preferred.
