Senior Fractional Project Manager

Who we are:
Partnered Management Group is a fractional services firm based in Charlotte, NC, that partners with small to medium-sized businesses, covering project and operations management and creative execution.
Location: MUST be in Denver, CO.
We’re looking for an experienced fractional project manager to support ongoing client work on a part-time contract basis, with the potential to grow into a larger or full-time engagement.
This role is for someone who can step into an active account, quickly understand the client, workflows, stakeholders, and moving pieces, and begin creating clarity with minimal handholding.
We work with sophisticated, high-touch clients, so we’re looking for someone who combines strong project management fundamentals with excellent judgment, polished client communication, and a systems-thinking mindset.
What You’ll Do
• Own client projects end to end, including scope, timelines, budgets, milestones, delivery, and closeout.
• Step into existing accounts and quickly understand the client, team, workflows, history, priorities, and open issues.
• Run ClickUp as the single source of truth, keeping projects, tasks, timelines, dependencies, and documentation accurate and current.
• Lead client communication through status updates, recurring meetings, follow-ups, and clear monthly reporting.
• Manage high-touch, detail-oriented clients with 10–15+ stakeholders, multiple workstreams, and evolving priorities.
• Coordinate designers, developers, strategists, contractors, and other cross-functional contributors to keep work aligned and moving.
• Connect information across emails, meetings, project plans, stakeholders, and workstreams to identify gaps or risks before they become problems.
• Set clear milestones and hold both internal teams and clients accountable to agreed-upon timelines.
• Manage scope actively, identifying scope creep early and helping determine the appropriate path forward.
• Identify project risks, dependencies, and blockers and proactively develop mitigation plans.
• Plan capacity and resourcing so work is assigned to the right people at the right time.
• QA deliverables before they reach the client to ensure they are complete, accurate, and aligned with expectations.
• Ask thoughtful, specific questions that demonstrate an understanding of the account rather than relying on generic project-management processes.
• Adapt to established client and internal processes before recommending changes.
• Improve workflows and SOPs where there is a clear opportunity to make delivery more consistent or effective.
What We’re Looking For
• 8+ years of professional project management experience, ideally within an agency, consultancy, studio, or other client-services environment.
• PMP, CSM, or a comparable project management certification.
• A demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent client accounts and complex workstreams without losing track of details.
• Exceptional client-facing communication skills. You can confidently lead meetings, write clear updates, facilitate decisions, and communicate difficult news calmly.
• A polished, professional presence that inspires confidence with both clients and internal teams.
• Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills. You naturally connect information across projects, conversations, stakeholders, and dependencies.
• The ability to jump into unfamiliar projects with limited onboarding and quickly determine what matters.
• Strong judgment and comfort making decisions independently.
• Experience managing timelines, budgets, resourcing, risks, dependencies, and scope.
• The ability to translate client goals and conversations into clear, actionable plans for delivery teams.
• Comfort working with clients who have many stakeholders, detailed feedback, and changing priorities.
• Self-directed, reliable, highly organized, and accountable.
Nice to Have
• Experience managing brand, communications, creative, or integrated marketing work, not exclusively digital marketing deliverables.
• Background in web, creative, technical, or digital product delivery.
• Client-facing account management experience.
• Scrum Master experience.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Zapier, Make, or similar platforms.
Key Details
This is a contract engagement beginning with fractional, part-time project management support. There is strong potential for ongoing retainer work or expanded hours for the right person.
Role: Ongoing client project work beginning part-time, with potential to grow.
Work Environment: Remote with in office 1 - 2 days a week.
Client Environment: Expect sophisticated, high-touch accounts with multiple stakeholders, interconnected workstreams, and evolving priorities.
