Company Description Kenya Malaria Youth Corps (formerly Kenya Malaria Youth Army) is a social movement that unites young people from all 47 counties to champion malaria control and elimination in Kenya. Role Description The Chief Product Officer (CPO) is a full-time, remote role responsible for shaping and executing the product vision that supports malaria elimination and broader health outcomes. The CPO will define product strategy across digital tools, programs, and services that enable youth engagement, community health interventions, and data-driven decision-making. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading product discovery and design, prioritizing product roadmaps, overseeing end-to-end product lifecycles, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder needs. The CPO will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in program delivery, technology, communications, and partnerships to translate field insights into scalable, user-centered solutions. The role also involves mentoring product and project teams, setting performance metrics, managing budgets and timelines, and representing the product function in internal and external forums.
Qualifications
Strong Product Strategy and Product Management skills, including experience defining product vision, roadmap, and value propositions for mission-driven organizations or health-related initiatives.
Demonstrated Project Management capabilities, with a track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects on time and within scope.
Proven Team Leadership and Cross-functional Team Leadership experience, guiding diverse teams and collaborating effectively across programs, technology, operations, and partnerships.
Background in digital products, service design, or program innovation in public health, social impact, or nonprofit settings is highly beneficial.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data and user insights to inform product choices.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with youth groups, communities, and institutional partners.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Business, Product Management, Technology, or related discipline); advanced degree or equivalent experience is an advantage.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate commitment to malaria elimination, maternal and child health, and universal healthcare access.
