Company Description Kenya Malaria Youth Corps (formerly Kenya Malaria Youth Army) is a social movement that unites young people from all 47 counties to champion malaria control and elimination across Kenya. Role Description The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the overall marketing vision and strategy of Kenya Malaria Youth Corps. The CMO will design and implement comprehensive marketing plans that strengthen the organization’s brand, expand reach across Kenya’s 47 counties, and support advocacy and community engagement goals. Day-to-day tasks include overseeing market research, developing and executing campaigns, managing digital and traditional communication channels, and guiding public relations activities to enhance visibility and partnerships. The CMO will lead and mentor a dispersed marketing team, collaborate with program and fundraising teams to align messaging, and track performance metrics to continuously improve marketing effectiveness. The role also involves stakeholder engagement, including coordination with youth leaders, health partners, donors, and government agencies to support malaria control and broader health objectives.
Qualifications
Strong market planning and marketing management skills, with experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies.
Proficiency in market research, including data analysis and insights generation to inform campaigns and organizational positioning.
Demonstrated expertise in public relations, media engagement, and reputation management in mission-driven or nonprofit settings.
Experience collaborating with sales or fundraising teams to support resource mobilization, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement.
Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional or remote teams, with inclusive and collaborative management practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences and cultural contexts.
Background in health, public health, social impact, or related sectors is highly desirable; experience in youth-led or community-based initiatives is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Health, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management abilities, with comfort working in dynamic, fast-evolving environments.
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and ethical practices, with a passion for malaria control, maternal and child health, and universal healthcare.
