Role Description
This is a contract remote role for a UI/UX Designer (Figma) at Ironbook AI. The person in this role will design intuitive user interfaces and engaging user experiences for AI-native products and internal tools, using Figma as a primary design platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes, collaborating with product managers and engineers to refine requirements, and translating complex workflows into clear, user-centered designs. The role involves running design reviews, incorporating user and stakeholder feedback, maintaining design systems, and supporting front-end development teams with detailed specifications and assets.
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented UI/UX Designer with 3 to 5 years of professional experience to take ownership of end-to-end user experience for our complex web portals and enterprise applications.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex business logic and intuitive human interaction. Your primary playground will be Figma—where you’ll design modular workflows, maintain design systems, and build high-fidelity interactive prototypes. You will work closely with product managers, business analysts, and front-end engineering teams to deliver responsive, accessible, and high-converting web portal interfaces.
Key Responsibilities1. Web Portal & Enterprise UI/UX Design
Architect user journeys, wireframes, interaction models, and task flows for complex web portals (e.g., dashboards, admin panels, client portals, SaaS platforms).
Translate multi-step user workflows and heavy data sets (tables, analytics, filters) into clean, intuitive, and responsive layouts.
Ensure all portal interfaces adhere to modern web accessibility (WCAG) and responsive web design standards across desktop, tablet, and mobile views.
2. Advanced Figma & Design Systems
Utilize advanced Figma features (Auto Layout, Components, Variants, Design Tokens, Variables, and Interactive Components) to scale the design process.
Build, maintain, and evolve our centralized Design System/UI Component Library in Figma to maintain visual consistency across all portal modules.
Create realistic, clickable Figma prototypes for internal stakeholder walk-throughs and end-user testing sessions.
3. Research, Strategy & Testing
Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research, stakeholder interviews, and usability testing to validate design concepts.
Map out user personas, journey maps, site maps, and information architectures specifically tailored for portal users.
Leverage analytics and user behavior feedback to identify UX friction points and iterate on existing web portal designs.
4. Cross-Functional Handoff & Collaboration
Collaborate daily with Product Managers to understand feature requirements and translate business logic into UI solutions.
Prepare pixel-perfect design specifications and developer handoffs in Figma (Dev Mode).
Partner directly with Front-End Developers (React, Vue, Angular, or standard web stacks) to ensure technical feasibility and high visual fidelity during build.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 3 to 5 years of dedicated UI/UX or Product Design experience, with a proven focus on complex Web Portals, B2B SaaS, or Enterprise Applications.
Portfolio Required: A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking, user flows, Figma component structures, and shipping live web portals.
Figma Expertise: Deep mastery of Figma (Auto Layout, Component Properties, Interactive Prototyping, and Design Tokens).
Information Architecture: Strong ability to organize complex data, multi-level navigation, data tables, filter trees, and admin workflows smoothly.
Technical Familiarity: Solid understanding of web technology constraints (HTML5, CSS3, grid systems, flexbox, frameworks) so you can design with developer handoff in mind.
Communication: Excellent verbal and visual storytelling skills to articulate design decisions to both technical teams and non-design stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
Experience building or maintaining a design system consumed by multiple product development teams.
Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS/JS) or design-to-code pipelines.
Familiarity with user testing platforms (e.g., Maze, Useberry) or web analytics tools (e.g., Hotjar, Google Analytics).
