2. About the Opportunity:
The Senior Backend Engineer, Safety is responsible for developing and enhancing backend systems that support community moderators in maintaining safe and healthy online spaces. This role directly impacts the effectiveness and reliability of moderation tools, contributing to the overall health and scalability of the platform''s communities.
3. Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver features that align with user needs and business goals.
Participate in the complete development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, experimentation, analysis, and deployment.
Review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specifications and mockups.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, establishing best practices and improving development workflows.
Continuously improve technical and non-technical skills.
4. Requirements:
5 to 8 years of software development experience in languages such as Go, Python, Rust, or Ruby.
Experience designing and implementing maintainable APIs using GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift, or gRPC.
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage projects effectively.
Self-directed, innovative, and action-oriented in fast-paced environments.
Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Base salary range: $190,800 to $267,100 USD.
Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units.
May be eligible for commission depending on position.
