Job Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable frequent, low-risk releases across services.
Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, keeping environments reproducible and version controlled.
Containerise applications and manage orchestration, including deployments, scaling policies and rollbacks.
Own monitoring, logging and alerting so issues surface before customers report them, and keep alert noise under control.
Manage production incidents: lead triage, restore service, and drive root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
Administer and tune Linux servers, networking and system configuration for real-time voice workloads.
Implement security controls including access management, secrets handling, patching and network hardening.
Manage database operations alongside the engineering team, covering backups, replication, failover and restore testing.
Plan capacity and optimise cloud spend without compromising performance or redundancy.
Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures, and test them on a defined schedule.
Automate repetitive operational work through scripting and tooling.
Document architecture, runbooks and operational procedures so knowledge does not sit with one person.
Required Skills
Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting, particularly under production load.
Hands-on cloud experience with AWS, GCP or Azure across compute, networking, storage and IAM.
Containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes, including production troubleshooting.
Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent.
CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or similar.
Scripting in Python, Bash or Go for automation.
Monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or Datadog.
Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, TCP/UDP, load balancing, firewalls, VPN.
Git and branching workflows.
Structured debugging under pressure, with clear communication during incidents.
Security awareness across access control, secrets management and vulnerability remediation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
3 to 6 years of hands-on DevOps, SRE or infrastructure engineering experience.
Demonstrated ownership of production systems, including on-call responsibility.
Candidates with equivalent practical experience in place of a formal degree will be considered.
