1. About Our Client:
The organization operates a K-12 tuition-free online public school in Washington State, providing students with flexible, personalized learning experiences using technology to support learning at home and at an appropriate pace. The organization addresses educational access through a statewide online model, ensuring compliance with educational regulations and laws.
2. About the Opportunity:
The School Operations Manager oversees the daily operational functions of the online school by supervising the operations team and collaborating with leadership to design and implement efficient processes. This role ensures compliance with state and sponsor regulations, supports stakeholders, and contributes to the overall effectiveness and smooth running of the school.
3. Responsibilities:
Supervise local operations team members managing student records, testing, attendance, truancy, office, and facilities
Provide resolution and support to staff, students, and families on school procedures, technology, and materials
Liaise between school staff and the broader organization to align operational processes
Participate as a member of the school leadership team
Develop, document, and archive operational procedures and workflows
Audit current procedures and identify improvements
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of education policies, compliance requirements, and laws
Manage student information in accordance with state and federal laws
Coordinate communication with external vendors as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned
4. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Strong spreadsheet skills including formulas and functions
Preferred experience in school settings and compliance management
Experience creating and documenting procedures and workflows
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
Reliable work ethic and sound judgment
Skills in managing difficult client situations
Leadership and management experience
Excellent communication skills
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure
Customer service orientation
Independent learner with ability to acquire new skills
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Ability to pass federal and state background checks
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Annual starting salary between $65,000 and $75,000, influenced by location, skills, education, and experience
