Field Technical Specialist

2. About the Opportunity:
The Field Technical Specialist role is focused on generating contractor business and providing technical support within a defined territory. This position works closely with contractors to ensure optimal application of restoration coatings and roof solutions, contributing to quality installations and customer satisfaction.
3. Responsibilities:
Ensure safe execution and delivery of roofing services and operations
Conduct technical training sessions in contractor offices and field applications
Provide hands-on training and supervision of roof coatings and installation
Perform roof inspections, including condition analysis, photo documentation, recommendations, and material estimates
Communicate professionally with customers, sales representatives, and corporate staff
Complete weekly and monthly reports, sales activities, proposals, and purchase orders
Travel within assigned territory and complete timely expense reports
Conduct pre-project field inspections and provide technical support such as peel tests, product recommendations, and installation guidance
Offer product diagnostic support to prevent misuse
Deliver ongoing sales support, training, and development to contractors
Maintain and develop contractor relationships by communicating product information and training
Develop new contractors through product system training
4. Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree, trade certification, or bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 5 years of commercial roofing sales or technical experience
At least 2 years of commercial roofing repair, troubleshooting, or field service experience
Knowledge of commercial roofing systems including built-up, modified, single ply, and metal
Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
Strong mechanical aptitude related to roofing and building science
Experience in field sales and service leadership
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internal business systems
Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience with product applications
Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate strong work ethic
Capacity to multitask effectively
Willingness to travel overnight up to 20% to support customer accounts
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Salary range generally between $75,000 and $90,000 based on qualifications and other factors
